Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Luuna mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”) provided by Luuna, Inc. (“Luuna,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Luuna is a financial wellness app that helps you stay within a budget by combining bank account insights with on-device “shield” features that interrupt unintended purchases. The Service includes a free tier and paid subscription tiers.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service.

3. Account

To use most features you must create an account with a valid phone number. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

4. Subscriptions

4.1 Tiers and pricing

We offer two paid subscription tiers:

Core Protection — annual subscription at the price shown in-app at the time of purchase.
Max Protection — annual subscription at the price shown in-app at the time of purchase, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.

Prices are localized to your App Store region and shown on the paywall screen prior to purchase. Promotional and retention pricing may be offered at our discretion.

4.2 Auto-renewal

All Luuna subscriptions are auto-renewing. This means:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period (annually) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

4.3 Free trial

If you start a Max Protection subscription with a free trial:

The trial lasts 7 days from the moment of activation.
If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged the full annual price and the subscription will continue.
Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription before the trial ends.

4.4 Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time:

Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap your Apple ID (your name at the top).
Tap Subscriptions.
Select Luuna and tap Cancel Subscription.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that date. No partial refunds are issued for unused portions of a billing period.

4.5 Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds directly.

4.6 Price changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. If we increase the price of your subscription, we will notify you in advance and you will be given the opportunity to cancel before the change takes effect.

5. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Service on Apple devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
Use the Service to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
Interfere with the Service’s operation, security, or other users’ access.
Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service.
Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service.

7. Bank account connections

The Service connects to your financial institutions through Plaid to read transaction data. By linking an account, you authorize Plaid and Luuna to access account and transaction information from that institution. You can unlink accounts at any time in the app. We do not store your bank credentials.

8. AI features

Some features (transaction detection, AI Guide) use third-party AI providers (Anthropic) to process page content or text you submit. We do not use your data to train AI models, and the providers we use are bound by their own privacy and security commitments. See our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, content, code, trademarks, and logos, is owned by Luuna or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use Luuna trademarks without our written permission.

10. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR ACCURATE. LUUNA IS NOT A FINANCIAL ADVISOR. THE SERVICE PROVIDES INFORMATIONAL TOOLS, NOT FINANCIAL, LEGAL, OR TAX ADVICE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUUNA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $50 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or for any other reason. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., Intellectual Property, Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability) will survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

15. Apple

The Service is licensed, not sold, to you. Your license is subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
